ATHENS, Ga. --Junior Emma Lemley throws nine strikeouts on Saturday as the No. 21 Virginia Tech Hokies blanked the Dartmouth Big Green 6-0.

Lemley (2-1) started and picked up the win for Virginia Tech (11-3-1), going six shutout innings while giving up two hits, walking none, and striking out nine. Grizzard was dealing out of the bullpen as well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out two.

Senior Emma Ritter led the way offensively for the Hokies, going 1-for-4 in the ballgame with a home run and two RBI. Junior Cori McMillan furnished a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Freshman Michelle Chatfield also contributed, going 1-for-3 for Virginia Tech with a double, a walk and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hokies took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Virginia Tech plated two runs when McMillan left the yard with senior Addy Greene aboard.

The Hokies then tacked on runs in the third and fourth innings, with their biggest output coming in the fourth when they scored two times. A run-scoring double from Chatfield was the highlight of the inning.
