No. 13/15 Virginia Tech drops series versus Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. --Junior Cori McMillan went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the No. 13/15 Virginia Tech Hokies in a 6-2 loss to the Syracuse Orange on Sunday.

Sophomore Lyndsey Grein (12-4) came out of the bullpen for Virginia Tech (38-11-1, 18-6) and took the loss. The right-hander went four innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on three hits, allowing four walks and striking out five.

At the plate, the Hokies were led by McMillan, who went 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 4-0, the Hokies first put runs on the board in the sixth inning. Virginia Tech scored twice, with one run coming across on McMillan's single. The Hokies were unable to get any closer, as Syracuse added two runs to their tally on the way to a 6-2 final.
