CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Making its fourth consecutive conference tournament appearance, the Virginia Tech baseball team will play from Pool C of the 2024 ACC Baseball Championship – taking place this week at Truist Field in Charlotte, North Carolina – as the league unveiled the official tournament schedule on Sunday morning.

As the event's No. 10 seed, Virginia Tech (32-20, 14-16 ACC) will open Pool C on Tuesday, May 21, when the Hokies square off against sixth-seeded [No. 11] Duke (35-18, 16-14 ACC) at 7 p.m. Per the tournament format, Tech will bat as the away team during its game against the Blue Devils.

Returning on Wednesday, May 22, Virginia Tech will play its Pool C finale against third-seeded [No. 17] NC State (32-19, 18-11 ACC) at 7 p.m. Per the tournament format, Tech will bat as the home team during its game against the Wolfpack.

Back in April, then-No. 23 Virginia Tech contested a thrilling, three-game home series against then-No. 7 Duke at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park.

The Hokies and the Blue Devils traded 11-inning results during the opening two games – Duke prevailing, 9-8, on Friday while Tech triumphed during Saturday's affair, 2-1. During Sunday's rubber match, the Hokies let their 9-4 lead slip to the Blue Devils, who came back to score the 13-10 win.

Virginia Tech has not opposed NC State since the teams' 2022 series at English Field. The Hokies' last postseason meeting against the Wolfpack dates back to 2010 when NC State squeaked out the 10-9 win during a 10-inning tournament game in Greensboro.

To champion Pool C – one of four pools feeding into Saturday's semifinal round – Virginia Tech will need to sweep its two pool games against Duke and NC State. Should the Hokies advance to Saturday's semifinals, they would oppose the winner of Pool B, featuring second-seeded [No. 4] Clemson, seventh-seeded Louisville and 11th-seeded Miami.

Under head coach John Szefc, Virginia Tech's fourth consecutive trip to the ACC Baseball Championship extends the program record. The Hokies, who will be making their eighth tournament appearance all-time, are seeking their first victory during pool play since 2022 and their first qualification outside pool play since 2013 (runner-up).

All pool games at the 2024 ACC Baseball Championship, taking place between Tuesday, May 21, and Friday, May 24, will air live on ACC Network. Should Virginia Tech qualify for the semifinals on Saturday, May 25, the Hokies would compete at 5 p.m. on ACC Network.

The Sunday, May 26, championship game will air live on ESPN2, beginning at 12 p.m.
