PARIS – Virginia Tech's Carmen Weiler Sastre, representing Spain, finished ninth overall in Monday's semifinals of the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.72 at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Weiler Sastre qualified for the semifinals in the 100 backstroke eighth overall with a time of 59.57. With this swim, she broke her Spanish national record of 59.65.
She will compete again in the women’s 200 backstroke prelims on Thursday, August 1.
