BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's golf team's impressive year in the classroom culminated in the Hokies receiving the 2023-24 Outstanding Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday.
Tech was awarded the Presidents Special Recognition – the GCAA's highest academic honor – for maintaining a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.5 or better throughout the 2023-24 academic year. The Hokies secured a 3.64 team GPA in fall 2023 and a 3.50 team GPA in spring 2024.
Graduates Charlie Hanson and Kobe Valociek were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars last week.
