Hokies add Connor Serven to 2024-25 men's basketball roster

Illinois native to play upcoming season with Tech

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head men's basketball coach Mike Young announced Friday the addition of Eastern Michigan transfer Connor Serven to the Hokies' 2024-25 roster. Serven has two years of eligibility remaining.

With the arrival of Serven, Tech will have 15 players set to don the maroon and orange for the upcoming season.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Serven arrives in Blacksburg after one season at Eastern Michigan, where he averaged 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 31 games played. Serven dialed up a career-high 15 points on 5 of 10 shooting vs. Kent State on Jan. 6, 2024. He notched three double-figure scoring games for the Eagles in 2023-24, while shooting 43.5% from the floor.

Serven is a two-time transfer who began his college career at Illinois. He played three seasons for the Fighting Illini, appearing in 18 games while logging three points and seven rebounds. Serven was a member of three NCAA tournament teams, including two squads that advanced to the NCAA second round in both 2022 and 2023.

Illinois tied for the 2021-22 Big Ten regular season championship and captured the 2021 Big Ten tournament title as the No. 3 seed during Serven's time in Champaign. The Priarie City, Ill., native was an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2022.
