BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football spoke with the media on Tuesday in preparation for its Week 6 matchup against Stanford. Head coach Brent Pry took the podium, followed by student-athletes Caleb Woodson and Brody Meadows. Read and watch below to see what they had to say:

Head Coach Brent Pry

On the impact of Hurricane Helene:
"Our thoughts and prayers, a ton of care and concern with the folks, the communities in the surrounding areas. In southwest Virginia, the Carolinas, east Tennessee, anybody that's watched the video, it's very moving. The damage, the loss, the rebuild, the cleanup, it's horrendous. We've got players and families affected by this. We've got staff families and certainly plenty of Hokie faithful. So a ton to put things into perspective."

On success this season in the ground game:
"We've improved in our line play, which I think we've done that for a couple of weeks here. We're straining, our hats are in the right place. We're finishing blocks better. We're giving Bhayshul Tuten and Kyron Drones more opportunity. P.J. Prioleau more opportunity to get a good run started. So we have to continue to do that."

Linebacker Caleb Woodson

On moving on from the game against Miami:
"As I said, it's over with now. So, the good thing is we got another opportunity this Saturday so just got to take advantage of that opportunity we have "

Offensive Lineman Brody Meadows

On how the team is mentally preparing for Saturday:
"As always, after each game, you want to watch your corrections, make corrections, and then it's on to the next. We want to start game planning for Stanford. Like I said, we have a new opportunity, great opportunity this week to go 1 and 0."
