BLACKSBURG - Forward Rose Micheaux collected her seventh double-double of the season with a 21-point, 13-rebound effort to lead the Hokies Thursdsay, but it was not enough to outlast Stanford who claimed a 75-74 victory in overtime.
Tech sits at 16-10 (7-8) ahead of a final home game Sunday afternoon against Cal. The Cardinal moved to 14-12 (6-9) on the season.
Matilda Ekh started the game 6-of-6 from the field in the opening half, scoring 13 points and helping the Hokies to a 32-25 lead.
Out of the halftime locker room, Tech was able to push the lead further, owning an 11-point advantage at the 5:27 mark in the third period. From there, Stanford would climb back into the game. The Cardinal got a career-high 30 points from Chloe Clardy who hit three of the team's five triples in the game.
Tech ended the night with 22 turnovers, which led to 22 Cardinal points.
The Hokies will close out the regular season home slate with a meeting with Cal on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. Seniors Micheaux and Ekh will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
