BLACKSBURG - In the 2025 season debut at Thompson Field, the Virginia Tech lacrosse team fell to top-ranked and unbeaten Boston College 21-5. The loss snaps a four-game winning streak for the Hokies who are now 5-2 (1-1).

Boston College got out a 6-1 start in the first 10 minutes of the game and would not relent their pressure on the Hokies' defense and cage, scoring all nine of the game's goals in the second frame.

The Eagles held an advantage on the circle with 19 draws to the Hokies' eight and took 15 more shots than the home team.

In goal, Aaliyah Jones made nine saves on the afternoon, already her fourth game with nine or more saves in 2025.

Lauren Render was the only Hokie to tally two goals, while Sophia Trahan, Maura O'Malley and Mia Pozzi each had one.

The Hokies are in action next vs. Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, March 5 at 1 p.m. at Thompson Field.
