BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team is eager to hit the pitch in 2025 as the student-athletes begin matriculating back to campus. Get to know the athletes who have joined the program since the fall season concluded with our summer introductory series.
Next up is midfielder Osi Onwudiwe.
Onwudiwe, a Woodbridge, Virginia native, joins Tech’s midfielder squad this season after graduating from Episcopal High School this spring. He played club soccer for Springfield SYC outside of his high school play time. Onwudiwe hails a list of honors: 2024 VISAA state champion, IAC All-League, IAC Co-Player of the Year, VISAA All-State First Team, VISAA All-State Player of the Year, All-MET First Team, Alexandrian Sportsman Club Athlete of the Month (Oct. 2024) and Year, Peyton S. Hawes III Award (Team MVP), United Soccer Coaches All-American, Sports Illustrated High School Player of the Year nominee and Gatorade State Player of the Year winner.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the Hokies’ season opening fixture against Ohio State on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. at Thompson Field.
