BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team is eager to hit the pitch in 2025 as the student-athletes begin matriculating back to campus. Get to know the athletes who have joined the program since the fall season concluded with our summer introductory series.
Next up is midfielder Alvaro Ruiz-Mateos.
Ruiz-Mateos, a native from Madrid, Spain, will join Tech this upcoming season. He played soccer for Everest Monteclaro School where he then went on to play for five professional clubs: Getafe, Navalcarnero, Estepona, San Sebastian de los Reyes, and Rayo Majadahonda, where he was captain for the team.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the Hokies’ season opening fixture against Ohio State on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. at Thompson Field.
