BLACKSBURG – Hokie fans will witness a first in Virginia Tech Football history this Saturday, Sept. 13 vs. Old Dominion, as the Virginia Lottery presents, in partnership with Virginia Tech Athletics and Virginia Recreational Sports, an extraordinary drone show during halftime at Lane Stadium.
“Tonight’s drone show, a first for the Virginia Lottery and Virginia Tech Football, is an exciting and innovative way to showcase the Lottery’s refreshed “playful” brand. We hope this spectacular display in the sky will create an unforgettable experience for all the fans in Lane stadium,” said Virginia Lottery Executive Director Khalid Jones.
The show will take place beyond the southeast corner of the stadium and include 500 drones, overlapping with the Marching Virginians’ “MV for a Day” performance that features high school band members from across the region. For those with limited sightlines, the drone show will be featured alongside the band show on HokieVision.
The special event underscores Virginia Tech’s dedication to creating unforgettable moments for fans—celebrating the spirit, dedication, and passion of Hokie Nation in an exciting new way.
