Alison Whittaker

Responsibilities: Alison is the Athletics Department liaison to the Virginia Tech Office of Undergraduate Admissions as well as Housing Services. She is responsible for communicating, developing and implementing policies, procedures and systems that ensure Virginia Tech’s 22 sport teams succeed in enrolling student-athlete recruits within NCAA, ACC and University policies. In her compliance role, she oversees incoming transfer student-athlete eligibility, as well as assisting with daily operations of the compliance office including rules education and enforcement of NCAA and ACC legislation as well as Athletics Department and University policies. Additionally, Alison works with Housing Services and manages on-campus housing for student-athletes.

At Virginia Tech: Alison returned to Virginia Tech in 2012 and served in many roles working directly with sport programs until joining the compliance office in 2015. She has served in many roles within the compliance office until she was elevated to her current position as Director, Compliance, Admissions and Housing in 2022. 
 
Prior to Virginia Tech: Alison was a Realtor in Blacksburg and the New River Valley for 10 years.

Personal: Alison and her husband, Greg, natives of Blacksburg and lifelong Hokies, have two children, Kaleigh and JT.
