Joined Virginia Tech men’s basketball staff: 2024 and enters his first season with the program as a graduate assistant.
With the Hokies: Smith is responsible for assisting with player development, film breakdown, and scouting reports.
Prior to Virginia Tech: Smith came to Tech from Radford University where he was a graduate assistant for the 2023-24 season.
Smith was a three-year letterwinner for Murray State (2019-22). He and his teammates advanced to the NCAA tournament in 2021-22 and made it to the Round of 32.
Following his career with the Racers, Smith ended his collegiate career at Thomas More University where he also made it to the Round of 32 in the national tournament.
Education: Thomas More, 2023 (B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies).
Personal: A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Smith is currently working on his master’s degree in agriculture with a concentration in agribusiness, while finishing his MBA at Radford University.
